Jean Shepherd is the man who wrote A Christmas Story and narrated the movie.

This is a 1937 Oldsmobile F-37 touring sedan. Ralph talks about “his old man” saying “Some men are Baptist; others Catholics. My father was an Oldsmobile man.”
We went on a tour of the museum which has lots. Of memorabilia from the movie and tons of Fan art created and sent to the museum.
Fun fact: There are no existing leg lamps that were actually used during the filming of the Christmas Story. There were three made for production, only one survived post production and it was discarded upon completion of the film. So no one will ever own an original leg lamp. 🙁
These are the hats of the bully Scut Farkus and his sidekick Grover Dill.
Higbees was a real department store that was founded in 1860. The store was in three scenes and was the first that Ralphie saw the infamous Red Ryder BB gun.
It was a warm winter in Cleveland when they were filming. So in order for them to film the perfect Christmas Story they had make the snow. The snowflakes blowing around were instant potato flakes. The snow on the ground was from local ski resorts and other places were filled in with soap shavings and firefighters foam. The actors said it was super slippery.
Randy: “I can’t put my arms down!” Mother: “You can put your arms down when you get to school.”
They put boards with springs in the arms to make his arms stay up and be able to pop back up when mother would push them down.
